SENIOR FELLOW, THE CLAREMONT INSTITUTE · 1943–2021

Angelo M. Codevilla

Angelo Codevilla was a senior fellow of the Claremont Institute, a longtime contributor to the Claremont Review of Books and The American Mind, and professor emeritus of international relations at Boston University. Born in Italy, he served as a naval officer, a Foreign Service officer, and a staff member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, and later as a senior research fellow at Stanford's Hoover Institution.

He was among the clearest American thinkers on intelligence, war, and statecraft. His 2010 essay in The American Spectator, "America's Ruling Class," named the divide that has defined our politics ever since.
